Yes, I just saw that post and was about to look up the festival on google for next year’s dates… If there is a chance to sample some eel dishes at the festival, I would definitely go… yum

I am not sure where the farm is, but I am sure you’ll have some slippery fun catching the eels.
As a child growing up in Moscow, I was sometimes taken to a very posh restaurant at an international hotel by my mum, and this was a very special treat for us… I recall having eel there and how delicious it was, I loved the rubbery texture…
I have never tried them jellied as in the English recipe, but I am guessing I would have loved them. I might have to go to London in search of them…

HI Ann, a few – very few – Sydney restaurants have eel on their menus from time to time, Four 14 for example, but not jellied as far as I know. I’m intending to cook some this way for our Eel Festival at Elizabeth Farm in autumn, as well as collaring them, so it will be a fun experiment to see how they turn out. Cheers, Jacqui
